Bangda Fry Mackerel Fry |
Bangda Fry (तळल्लो बांगडो) is a popular dish, especially in Mumbai.

Ingredients :
Bangda (Mackerel) - 4
Tamarind extract - 1 tbsp
salt as per taste
3 tbsp rice flour
1 tbsp rava (semolina)
Oil for shallow frying
Spices :
1 tsp tumeric powder
2 tsp Malwani masala or as per taste
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Directions :
| 1 | Clean mackarel especially the head part and the stomach part very well. Give horizontal slits to each fish. |
| 2 | Marinate mackerel in tamarind extract, salt and all the spices for atleast 30 min. |
| 3 | Make a mixture of rava and rice flour, add little salt as per taste. |
| 4 | Dip each fish in the flour mixture and coat it well from all sides. |
| 5 | Shallow fry on medium heat for 5 - 7 min on each sides or till the flour cover is crispy. |
Note :
- In case if malwani masala is not available you substitute it with red chilli powder and garam masala in equal proportion.
- For tamarind extract soak 1 tbsp tamarind in 2 tbsp warm water and let is sit for 5 min. Extract the tamarind juice by squeezing and filter the extract.
