Install and run program |
Steps
1. Download and install Java compiler
2. Set PATH and CLASSPATH
3. Create Hello.java file
4. Compile (javac)
5. Run generated .class file (java)
Download Java
Open command prompt in Windows or Shell in *nix and Set PATH and CLASSPATH.
I use batch file to do this. So to compile and run program create run.bat file in Windows or run.sh in *nix
//Hello.java
public class Hello
{
public Hello()
{
System.out.println("Constructor called");
}
public static void main(String [] a) throws Exception
{
Hello hello = new Hello();
String str = "Hello";
System.out.println(str);
}
}
After running javac command Hello.class file should get created. After running "java Hello" following output will be seen
You can use IDE like Eclipse, Websphere RAD to run your Java programs rather than using console.
